MEET THE CREW

Where else can you find 5 guys, a girl, and a robot doing an internet show about film and video games? It's about time you knew more about the names behind the faces.

John Gibson

John has shown an interest in producing his own video game show since the Summer of 1992, when he was exposed to the Gamepro TV show. Since that time, he's put together various precursors for VMTV, such as NintendoMania (1992), Game Power (1993), and of course, Gamepro II (1994). He enjoys watching shows like Heroes, and Ghost Hunters. His choices of movies range from Sci-Fi to Comedy, from Journeyman to Jeff Dunham. He also drew his own comic strip for 6 years about life as an average worker.

Matt Rau

Matt was the first Co-Host on the new VMTV shows. Around the 4th episode of the 1st season, his wife gave birth, and his show availability has been limited. He's still able to contribute great stuff. Growing up, he would play with his brothers G.I. Joe, and Star Wars figures. He loved to draw...badly! He tried drawing the graphical representation of a Texas Instrument-99A computer TAPE data while listening to them in his Sony Walkman at home, thinking it would help him learn how to use the computer better. Matt, of course, enjoyed games. The Super Mario and Doom series, in addition to the 2D sidescroller Duke Nukem. He also did time on Commodore 64 games, like Maniac Mansion, and The Castles of Doctor Creep. When he's not in front of the tube watching Star Wars and Star Trek, he can be found reading JRR Tolkien books, H.P. Lovecraft, and some comic books like Groo, Madman, and SCUD.

Bree Truelove

Bree is our only female host, but certainly has proven to be a valuable asset to the VMTV family, and even a love interest for Earl the Robot for a while. Her favorite movies are Biodome, The Wraith, The Breakfast Club, O Brother Where Art Thou? When she's not watching and reading horror, she enjoys the Shoot-em-ups, same as Matthew, as well as adventure and platform games. She loves the Legend of Zelda and The Sims series, Dragon Quest 8 (PS2), Giga Wing 2 (Dreamcast), Indigo Prophecy (PS2), Super Mario World (SNES).

Matthew Truelove

First, Matthew began as a fan of the show. One day, it was suggested to him that he and Bree submit a demo for the show. Being creative nuts, (or creative and nuts), they put together a funny ass demo. Then, they HAD to be on VMTV. The rest is history. Matthew loves the Shoot-em-up games, as well as action and sports titles. His favorite games include the R-Type and Doom series, early Sonic the Hedgehog games, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (PS2), Under Defeat (Dreamcast), and digs movies such as Army of Darkness, The Big Lebowski, Bride of Frankenstien, Jaws, Man on Fire, and Real Genius.

Jason Newman

Jason was one of the original Video Masters hosts from 1995 until 1997. In 1998, Jason went to Buffalo for college. During that time, John and Jason attempted to produce an episode of Video Masters in May of 2001. Unfortunately, it didn't make it past script writing and chroma key testing. Jason became a gamer in the 80's, like so many of us did. His first console games included Super Mario Bros and Ghosts n Goblins on the NES around Christmas of 1986. From there, Jay moved to PC games with titles like Civilization and Duke Nukem 3D. A fan of Sci-Fi, cartoons like Futurama, Simpsons and Family Guy, and a guy who's big on classic rock.

Chris Evans

Chris came onboard VMTV in February, 2009. He is a proud husband, father, and lifelong gamer. His first experience with gaming came in the very early 80’s with the Commodore 64 where games like Jumpman, Blue Max, Impossible Mission, Ghostbusters, and a host of others sparked his interest in the hobby. Chris was fortunate enough to “play test” many of those consoles and as a result received a free Super Nintendo from Nintendo of America just 2 weeks before the North American launch in 1991. Currently, he's the owner of a Nintendo Wii, DS Lite, and a Playstation 3. His favorite films include Ghostbusters, and Dawn of the Dead (1978), and enjoys shows such as LOST, Heroes, Chuck, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Ghost Hunters, The Office, and Man Vs. Wild.

Earl the Robot

An odd character. Earl is a robot from Earth's future. The year 3025. It was there that Earl and his super computer friend, D.U.K.E (Directory of User Kontrolled Entertainment) were watching, in reality, clips from VMTV episodes in the privacy of their own dome. Recently, a timewarp storm took them back in time to Earth's present. Now, Earl is a participant on the show, while he and DUKE keep their eyes peeled for the one form of media responsible for Earth's destruction in their time. Earl has come up with his own "Media Mysteries", where he shows viewers clips from TV shows and movies, and asks the viewers to solve film errors. In April, 2009, Earl began doing game cheats with the help of DUKE.
